The reviewed scientific journal "Russian Journal of Water Transport" was given this name in January 2020. Prior to that date, the journal was called "Vestnik VGAVT"; it replaced in 2002 the collections of articles published by the University under various names since its foundation in 1930.
The journal is devoted to the topical issues of water transport in Russia and publishes scientific materials in such important areas for the industry as shipbuilding, ship repair, hydraulic engineering, environmental safety of navigation, economics, logistics and transport management.
The journal has a certificate of registration of the mass media PI NO. FS77-77658 dated January 17, 2020, the subscription index in the "Press of Russia" catalog: 70191. ISSN (online) - 2713-1866; ISSN (print) - 2713-1858.
The journal has been included in the List of Higher Attestation Commission since 26 March 2019. It publishes the articles on the problems in the following specialties:

The editorial board of the journal includes leading Russian and foreign scientists in basic industry areas.
The journal is published 4 times a year.
