Problems of improvement of approaches to structural fire protection of ships in composite materials

Abstract

The use of composite materials in shipbuilding opens up new opportunities in the creation of energy-efficient ships and new types of ships. However, the problem of the combustibility of these materials arises, which limits their introduction into the practice of building conventional and other ships, associated with issues of structural fire protection. In the present paper the regulation of the use of composite hulls in international and Russian practice is considered, their differences are noted, and recommendations for improving Russian approaches are given with consideration of import replacement necessities.
