The purpose of the journal is to create scientific area for dissemination of advanced knowledge in the field of water and other kinds of transport in Russia and abroad. Increasing authority of national publications in global scientific community.

Tasks of the journal:

• assistance in development of theoretical and practical research in the fields of development and use of water transport, logistics, ecology and related sciences;
• involvement of authors and reviewers who are high-level specialists in their fields;
• achievement of scientific publications of the international level;
• establishment and strengthening of scientific relationships  between Russian and foreign scientists;
• promoting the journal in the Russian and international information space, increasing the citation of published articles.
