Modeling of transport and logistics processes with used wooden pallets in the circular economy

Abstract

At cargo terminals that handle packaged cargo, large volumes of unusable wooden pallets are formed. Currently, at cargo terminals (sea and river ports, railway stations), the main option for handling them is to send them to a landfill. But this option cannot be considered rational in all cases in the context of the start of the federal project "circular economy" as part of the national project "environmental well-being", which sets the task of maximizing the use of material resources even after they become unusable for their main purpose. In the work, models of the transport and logistics process of handling used wooden pallets are formed, including: sending them to the landfill in unprocessed and chipped form; repair and reuse in the transport and logistics process; processing into chips and pellets with subsequent sale on the market as secondary material resources. For the developed models of handling wooden pallets, analytical dependencies were obtained to assess the efficiency of their use, which makes it possible to make a decision on the appropriate option for handling them for a warehouse or cargo terminal.
