Publication process

  • Publication in the journal is free of charge. There are no article submission/processing/publication charges at our journal. The editors do not charge authors for reviewing, scientific and literary editing, checking the quality of the translation of English-language metadata of the manuscript, preparation of page layout in print and electronic form, production of printed materials.
  • The articles should comply with the journal section requirements and may be submitted in Russian or English. The articles are included in the next issue of the journal in case of a positive result of an independent expertise and the compliance of the text of the article and its design with the requirements of the journal.
  • The average time for preparing the article for publication is 2-6 months after the submission.
  • The article can be sent to the editors in two ways, either via e-mail to raeva@vsawt.com or via the website (in this case, the author will need to create an account, then send the article using the system web interface and tips). Using e-mail is a simpler way for the author.
  • The manuscript of the scientific article, submitted to the editorial board of the journal "Russian Journal of Water Transport", is reviewed by the executive secretary for compliance with the journal profile, design requirements. After registration of the manuscript a confirmation of receipt of the article is sent to the authors via e-mail.
  • The review of the articles is carried out by the editorial board of the journal, as well as external reviewers, leading experts in Russia and other countries in the appropriate field. The decision to select a reviewer for the expertise of the article is made by the editor-in-chief, deputy editor-in-chief.
  • The review takes no more than two months from the day on which the reviewer receives the article.
  • After receiving reviews, the editorial board makes a reasoned decision on the need to finalize or revise the article, as well as the possibility or impossibility of publishing the work. The editors inform the author of the result of the expert assessment (via e-mail or via the website, if the author created an account). In case of a positive expert opinion, the publication date is determined, and the author is notified in one of the above-mentioned ways.
  • The editors reserve the right to make stylistic changes and necessary text corrections.
  • If the editorial board makes some recommendations for correcting or finalizing the article, the executive secretary of the journal sends the author the review, proposing to take into account the recommendations when preparing a new version of the article, or to refute them reasonably. The author of the article must send the editorial board a response to the review and a revised version of the article (no later than 1 month after receiving the review). It is necessary to respond to all reviewer comments in exactly the same order as they follow in the review. In the revised article, all changes made must be highlighted.
  • After eliminating the shortcomings, the article is included in the next issue of the journal.
  • The decision to refuse to publish the manuscript is made at a meeting of the editorial board in accordance with the recommendations of the reviewers. Th article not recommended for publication is not accepted for re-consideration. A motivated refusal to publish is sent to the author via e-mail or via the website, if the author created an account.
